Magpies

The black- backed magpies come well down into Victoria. Coming south from Ouyen they are bb until about Avoca; and all around Beechworth too. I think white-backs take over between Bendigo and Ballarat. Stephen

Bustards

When we were living 135km east of Esperance, north of Cape Arid and west of Israelite Bay, we regularly used to see bustards in the paddocks. I am not surprised that they have been reported near Eyre Bird Observatory. Ann Millard
