Unidentified tern at Lake Cargellico

A colleague and I were visiting Yanga National Park in NSW today and identified what were certainly a number of white winged (black) terns (Chlidonias leucopeterus) in developing breeding plumage (black appearing on the lower chest and belly). I saw my first two White-throated Needletails for this season this morning while participating in a monthly bird survey at Eatons Crossing, SEQ. They were following the upstream course of the South Pine River.
