Spring in Mulgoa Valley

Hi All.

We have had some good sightings in our part of Mulgoa Valley over the last week.

Best was a juvenile BAILLON’S CRAKE among the reeds on a dam, new for my local list.

Channel-billed Cuckoos calling, Riflebird in the yard

First ones in Yungaburra for the year heard last Monday morning. We usually have our first about a week after Sydney. The PNG birds are slow starters.

Had a female riflebird in the yard for the first time in many years. We are about a kilometre from rainforest. Regards, Alan
