WANTED: Powerful Owl around Melbourne

Does anyone have a reliable Powerful Owl site anywhere around Melbourne at the moment?

Any information gratefully accepted (wanted for a visiting Dutch birder).

Mute Swans

I have been in touch with the Council Ranger at Northam, WA regarding the Mute Swans.

There is an enclosure which the swans may/may not use for breeding. The enclosure was constructed about 18 years ago.

How many secondaries does a Bird of Paradise have?

Another obscure one I’m afraid: · Birds of Paradise and bowerbirds both have 12 rectrices and 10 primaries, but bowerbirds have an atypically large number of secondaries (11-14 including the tertials)

Roosting behaviour of bowerbirds and birds of Paradise

My thanks to those who responded with information about roosting and predation on bowerbirds and birds of paradise, I got several useful sightings for roosts of Satin Bowerbirds, but nothing for birds of paradise and no instances of direct predation, which just goes to show how both subjects are remarkably little known.
