Norway, just north of and above the town center of Tromsø; I must have written about it several times before, as it is famous for its population of nesting Red-throated Loons. . . . → Read More: Feeding the Ruffs at Prestvannet

IOC coming to Australia

It’s good to hear that the 28th International Ornithological Congress is going to be held in Melbourne in 2022. Only the second in Australia ever, 48 years after the previous one.

channel-bill cuckoos, Yungaburra, north Qld

Greetings,

I heard my first Chanel-billed cuckoos for the season this morning at about 6 am. It sounded like two or more birds. Later I heard a single bird calling at about 0620. This is by far the earliest I’ve recorded them in Yungaburra.

Regards,

Alan
