Silver Gull with protuberance from lower mandible

I have a couple of photos of a Silver Gull taken on The Strand in Townsville recently which has a protuberance from its lower mandible. Does anyone know what it could be? My back yard bird bath attracts a steady number of birds wanting to drink and bathe. I’ve posted a few that I saw on just one day.
