re Rufous-crowned Emu-wren sightings around Alice Springs

I’ve just returned from a Larapinta walking trip and managed to spend time around Ellery Creek Big Hole and Ormiston Gorge unsuccessfully trying to locate this Emu-wren to photograph in the localities suggested in “Birds of Australia” (Thomas, Thomas et al) and “Finding Australian Birds” (Dolby and Clarke). Woodswallows on the coast of Cairns a month or so ago…???

Martin, there has been a mixed flock of White-browed and Masked Woodswallows about Mt Molloy for about a week now. Quite a spectacle when they come down to roost during the evening. There were about 50 (both species) drifting over Atherton yesterday afternoon (20th May). Must be really getting desperate out in the inland!
