Yandina Creek Wetlands

I’ve updated the present situation regarding the campaign to protect the 200-hectare Yandina Creek Wetlands on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. Drainage works have unfortunately progressed at a time when the wetlands are hosting unprecedented numbers of waterfowl and other birds. Chestnut-crowned Babbler language

Hi List, Some interesting observations about Chestnut-crowned Babbler language; http://www.independent.co.uk/news/science/chestnutcrowned-babbler-australian-bird-becomes-first-known-nonhuman-species-to-communicate-using-language-10353537.html I wonder if any other birds have been sufficiently studied to see if they also use “language”? Dear All, I had planned a trip to Kakadu in a week’s time to try the tough trek out to look for WTGs. However the organisation was largely in the hands of another birder who has unfortunately and unavoidably had to pull out. I am not going to travel up to the NT now, but . . . → Read More: White-throated Grasswrens

Gresswell Habitat Link area

Would any birders in the Macleod/Bundoora area be interested in making a regular bird survey in the area north of Latrobe University? This would include the Gresswell Habitat Link, Strathallen Golfcourse, Gresswell Grange storm-water ponds and maybe extending to Gresswell Hill and Gresswell Forest. We might solve the problem of where the Swift Parrots . . . → Read More: Gresswell Habitat Link area
