On my regular walk along Police Creek (Gladstone QLD) this morning, I was pleased to note that Red-backed Fairy-wrens have returned (they have taken off for a while after their nesting site was sprayed and the grass died). I noted on Birding-aus (NSW birdline) this morning that David Charley had seen 600-700 Topknot Pigeons near Uralba Nature Reserve and commented that it was the largest number that he had seen in the area since the early 1990’s.
