“Predicted” Message from John McGowan Possible Virus

Has anyone else on B-A received a strange message from John McGowan with a subject line “Predicted” ? Looks like a trap to me. If you have received one I would advise not “Click Here” in the message.

Cheers,

Yes, I got it too. I assumed that a virus had retransmitted it through John’s PC. Didn’t open it of course. Even if I had I’d hope my Norton would catch it.

It’s very easy to change the from and reply-to fields in emails – I wouldn’t worry about it. I may have used the same technique to prank my laboratory with interesting results… Cheers,

G’day Peter et al I dunno what happened -it might have been me in which my sincere apologies. I use Apple which I thought was much less likely to do this sort of thing. But again my apologies. John Mc

It’s not necessarily from John’s computer. Spammers send in the name of whoever they like.

The Birding-Aus system received one with the subject line “Supervised” a while back.

It didn’t make it through though. Looks well dodgy to me.
