lone White Throated Needletail?

In South Gippsland (Fish Creek) at the moment and over the past few days have seen what appears to be a lone White Throated Needletail on three occasions. Only feeble bins with me and its quite high, so ID not 100% Doesn’t appear to be a Hobby (Pizzey and Knight suggest this as a possibility). I can’t recall seeing a lone specimen before – any suggestions/comments (other than always take the good bins with me).?

Cheers Pat

    G’day Pat et al

I am receiving many more records of lone WTNT in the last two seasons than is usual. I am not sure how this fits in with the decling population – but would still welcome receiving as many sightings as possible – no matter what size the group seen is.

    Cheers & Happy birding

We saw a lone White-throated Needletail at Glenugie, S of Grafton, North Coast NSW on Monday January 23. I have occasionally see lone birds possibly scouting for food for a nearby flock.
