White-fronted Honeyeater, Minnippi Parklands (Tingalpa, Brisbane)

This is clearly one very site-faithful bird for now. After taking all week to get around to it, I finally managed to get out to Minnippi Parklands in Tingalpa late this afternoon. Several birders was just leaving as I arrived, saying the bird hadn’t been seen for close to an hour. I reasoned that meant it was due to put in another appearance. Sure enough, after about a 20-minute wait a White-fronted Honeyeater appeared in the exact location it has been seen all week, at 4.40pm in the tall eucalypts adjacent to box number 269. It stayed in view for around 15 minutes, by which time the light was starting to fade. Also present were Golden and Rufous Whistler, a party of Variegated Fairy-wrens, Scarlet, Yellow-faced and Brown Honeyaters, and a single Fan-tailed Cuckoo. Black and Scarlet Jezebels (butterflies) were a nice bonus.
