Red Goshawk/ Cape York

Thanks to all those closer to this topic for their postings.

The information (” if correct”) that 380000 hectares of Cape York Peninsula is being strip-mined by Rio Tinto, and the ariel pics, in the blog referenced on Birding-aus, is upsetting to say the least.
Saving a nesting tree in the middle of it all is not going to do much for Conservation. There would have to be many thousands of species wiped out.
Presumably there was an EIS done at some stage, is this publicly accessible?
