The Gould Group as it was known, went into receivership about 2.5 years ago partly due to missing out on Vict Govt tenders for running the Australian Sustainable Schools Initiative in Vic schools…. A long story and one I dont wish to go into.
However, as Greg points out the Liverpool Plains CMG bought the name rights, I believe, and hence the Gould League has returned, hopefully in its former guise not the one of the “corporate group” that it became……

The NSW Gould League held its centenary at Wellington Public School on the 15th and 16th of October 2010. The NSW League was formed by a teacher Walter Finigan and the Headmaster Edward Webster at the school under the ‘Gould League Tree’ an exotic elm. Gary Eggins and I attended the celebrations representing the Gould League Bird Study Camp Club, of which I am Camp Organiser. The Club was orginally run by the Gould League but has been organised independently for many years. The 75th anniversary of the Camp Club will occur in 2012, however it will be the 70th camp as there were no camps for four years during the second world war and there appears to have been no camp in 1950.
As I understnand it the NSW Gould League has also been taken over by the Liverpool Plains (Catchment) Management Group.
