If these birds are not escapes this is a rare sighting for SA. However, reporting 5 days after the event doesn’t give much chance for anyone else to go confirm the sighting. (SA) Observation: Superb Parrot (Polytelis swainsonii) (1) Call heard clearly (as an unknown for the Club) and using a monocular found. Excellent view (of male) from front below with full body and breast colours clear. Second bird heard approx 40M away in another River Red gum but could not be found to view. So far from region that would surely be aviary escapees???
