Hi all,
Re Falcos in a day. Can’t be sure of all six, because notes lost, but am sure I got Grey, Black, Peregrine, Nankeen and Hobby (and maybe Brown) not just in one day but in one viewing one morning in 2003 (July/August?) at Lake Belmore, town water supply for Croydon, North Queensland. Birds were stacked, along with Black and Whistling Kites, topped by watching Wedge-tailed Eagle, feasting on insects being swept by stiff winds across lake and up into air off rocky ridge alongside Belmore’s community facilities block. Later jotted some lines of doggerel and sent poem to BOCA townsville and Wingspan. Don’t know if it was ever used. And, White-bellied Sea Eagles appeared later!
Cheers Tony Ashton
