A problem with Kowa telescopes

I purchased a Kowa 883 Spotting scope last year. It is excellent optically, but does have a problem which I think is worth alerting birders to. Common Bronzewing – Bellarine Peninsula

We are just outside Torquay and have had up to 6 Common Bronzewings in our garden and especially just recently, and they have become less and less skittish over the years. The first one appeared in 2009. Sadly, like most birds in the Torquay area, their feeding places are becoming more scarce by the day.
