~ 10 WT Needletails circling Mt Gravatt [SEQ] between 10:30 and 11:00 today

Not sure if it was a guest appearance or whether they are hanging around SEQ for a while. Does anyone know if WTNT are sensitive to the heatwave conditions that have been gripping northern Australia and how they they would be influenced by the cyclonic system heading towards the Qld coast.

Par Avion loses aircraft enroute to Melaleuca

It appears that it was going to collect passengers and only the pilot was lost.

Given the weather was classed as poor at the time, it is strange that the pilot was taking the inland route [via the Arthur Range] rather than the coastal route.
