A friend sent me these photos of an eagle he photographed in Nerrandera. It is clearly a wedge-tail to my view but the markings and coloration seem quite strange. Any suggestions or comments?

There was snow on the hills of Bruny Island on one of the days leading up to that weekend. A once a decade occurrence. Just a quick one following a recent posting: The Flycatcher is a definitely Leaden Flycatcher – ‘lead-coloured’ as opposed to shiny black in Satin and also the shape of the bib which is convex in Leaden and in your bird but concave in Satin.
