Forgot to mention that three taxa are not recognised as species by IOC: 1. Gibson’s Albatross Diomedea [a.] gibsoni (IOC: subspecies of Antipodean Albatross) 2. While this discussion is going, what is everyone’s opinion of the Morepork, which supposedly occurs in both NZ and Tasmania, whereas a separate species (the normal Southern Boobook) occurs only on mainland Australia???
