Anyone visiting the Top End right now should bring some warm clothing. The temperature at Middle Point (near Darwin River, about 80 km southwest of Darwin) was 7.6oC.     … unless you come from the Southern Tablelands of NSW, in which case the bathers should still be packed. We have had a couple of days recently when the maximum temperature has been lower than that. Things are looking up however as the overnight minimum was a relatively balmy -1.7 (at 0702hrs).
