White Wagtail east side of Lake Joondalup

G’day all,

Martin Cake and I finally saw the bird about 10.10am this morning, then on and off until we left a bit before 12.30. Several others came through and caught up with it too. It was still difficult, popping in and out of the reeds and often disappearing for longish periods, but a few times it wandered around in the open for a while and showed fairly well (though distant). It looks pretty similar to the Gwelup bird, and I reckon it’s the same bird

Just before we finally saw the wagtail, Martin & I also managed a Long-toed Stint and then a Pectoral Sandpiper as well. White-fronted Chats still in evidence too, and some Red-necked Stints with full colour

Location (as previously noted) is the east side of the lake along Scenic Dr, about 200m north of the recreation centre complex (just north of a cricket pitch) Many thanks to the OF, Wayne Merritt, for putting the word out yesterday! Cheers, John
