White-Throated Needletail & Fork-Tailed Swifts, Sydney Olympic Park

Hi List, Conditions must have been excellent this morning at Concord West, NSW & Sydney Olympic Park, Homebush, NSW this morning for Needletails and Swifts. As I exited the station at 7:50am I could see a flock of about 40 White-Throated Needletails circling right above the station. GPS Co-ords -33.84857,151.085637. While I was watching them with my binoculars I was surprised to see a second higher flock of about 60 White-Throated Needletails flying due East very fast. The first flock was still at the same spot when I left after ten minutes. The second flock disappeared very soon after I first noticed it. I managed to take a few not very impressive photos of the first flock.

Arriving at Lake Belvedere at 8:15am there were approximately 30 White-Throated Needltails and 2 Fork-Tailed Swifts circling above Lake Belvedere and nearby grass. GPS co-ords -33.850887,151.076088.

I was also thrilled to spot a Nankeen Night Heron standing on the edge of the island in Lake Belvedere. I keep hearing & reading of them being seen at this spot & I finally managed to find one!
