White-throated Needletail

Sixteen White-throated Needletail hawking around “Aqua” Highrise Marine Pd Labrador. Qld. at Eleven am Qld time today going around and around the building for ½ an hour in the misty rain and when the rain stopped they grouped and headed for South Stradbroke Island. Seemed to be an insect hatching from the lawns on the first floor on each side of the building. I’m on the eighth floor and they were coming that close to the balcony I could of hit them with a tennis racket. Photos taken (Not easy when they are that close) mainly from above and a couple had a white fleck on the top of their wings. They look like a bullet from side on and of course they don’t fly straight when feeding and only appeared for a couple of seconds as they flash past the balcony. Barney Enders.
