Wedge-tailed eagle decline

I forgot to mention in my previous posting that not only did see no live Wedgies but also saw no Wedgie carcasses next to the roads in NSW and S/W Qld.
I am sure others also noticed the frequency of Magpies, Pied Butcherbirds and Willy Wagtails feeding on the innumerable roadside macropod and emu carcasses. We have not previously noticed this behaviour as being common. Presumable these adaptable birds are mainly feeding on the invertebrates utilising the carcasses.
