Arnold Magarry of Cairns has passed away, aged 94 years. Arnold, together with his wife Dawn who survives him, were keen birdwatchers for many years in the Cairns region and hosted many visiting southern birders, sharing their knowledge of the local birds and birding sites. Up until a few months ago Arnold was still capable of maintaining his beautiful garden at Whitfield but spent the last few weeks of his life in a nursing home.
