Unusual Galah behaviour

Hello Julian, As Stephen has suggested bill-stropping and eye-wiping are regular elements of Galah behaviour, carried out mainly by males at breeding time. If you are interested in Galahs, my website www.graemechapman.com.au is worth a look and Ian Rowley”s book even more so. We studied Galahs in Western Australia for nearly seven years back in the 1970’s. Those were the good old days, or were they? Long term wildlife research is no longer supported by governments of any persuasion. A quick look at Surrey Beatty”s website suggests that the book was still available new for $39.60 in 2010 but it is now listed by most other dealers as out of print. It seems to be available still as “new” from www.booksofnature.com for $43.56 Cheers Graeme Chapman
