Trip report: Messa Rocks, Big Desert, Victoria, 15-18 September 2015

Yes, James, we were keeping an ear out for a Western Whipbird. Many years ago, Dean made a recording of an unknown bird call in the Big Desert, that may or may not have been one. A number of experts listened to the call but opinions differed on what it was, the front runner being a Spiny-cheeked Honeyeater. Needless to say, we didn’t hear anything like it this time – we would have been unreasonably excited if we had!
