Condolences to Annie and the family. Trevor was a wonderful birder and very gentle and kind man. He was a top birder, and shared his enthusiasm with so many people. He was a long-term contributor to Birding-Aus, and one of the first members. It was such a delight to meet him in 1997 when he joined other Birding-Aus members on a Gourmet Plainswanderer Weekend with Phil Maher. It would be nice to honour Trevor’s long contribution to birding in some way. Russell Woodford Birding-Aus Owner On 12 February 2015 at 10:23, Nev Capell < nevcap@gmail.com> wrote:

We will always remember the friendly help and enthusiasm of Trevor (and Annie) when we first starting birding in Sydney in the 1990s. We learned so much from him (including to celebrate each new bird with a bottle of wine!). Very sad news. Our thoughts are with his family. Trevor helped me a lot when I was fifteen and introduced me to the oxygen tax, where he charged more to those people without trees in their yard. A great guy and very sad news

I am holding a personal 10 minutes of silence – a very grim day indeed. Trevor’s sense of humor, and outright enthusiasm for natural history will live with me forever. Cheers, Tony — This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. http://www.avast.com

I only knew Trevor by reputation, but it is always sad to see a good birder go. My thoughts to his family. Carl Clifford

I’ll always remember Trevor for his extreme passion for birds and their conservation. His passion was very infectious to all those who knew him. Dear Nev Thank you for letting me know. There goes a true gentleman. I’ll never forget his and Annie’s kindness when I visited Sydney some years ago. And though I never got to return it directly, I passed that kindness on to others. Please give Annie my love and let her know our thoughts are with her. Sadly I’ve seen little of Trevor since his move to Queensland. The last time was on a visit to Sydney when the two of us enjoyed a great days’s birding in the Royal NP. Sad news. Andy
