I noted on Birding-aus (NSW birdline) this morning that David Charley had seen 600-700 Topknot Pigeons near Uralba Nature Reserve and commented that it was the largest number that he had seen in the area since the early 1990’s. On 26 April Val and I observed 1000+ Topknot Pigeons crossing the Orara Way at Tallawudjah Creek, Glenreagh and landing in the fruiting Camphor Laurels. This is probably an underestimate as I tend to be conservative with my estimates. This is the largest flock that I have ever seen.

1000+! – good spot Greg Makes the pair I saw crossing the Pacific Highway near Killara in northern Sydney yesterday seem a bit feeble. Cheers Tom Wilson
