Top End ID help

G’day assembled avian experts of Australia.

I’m stuck on what may turn out to be a mortifyingly simple ID. A friend has recently been birding near Darwin and he has a photograph of a funny-looking or juvenile friarbird that, not being much of a Top End birdo, I am just not sure about.

All answers, advice and ridicule (it may just be an odd Helmeted Friarbird) will be gratefully received.

Thanks in advance,
