They’ve done it! 11, 617 kms Birding across Canada by bicycle!

Hi all,

I just wanted to put in a plug for my son Nigel Jackett and his girlfriend Jaime Hall (both from Perth at present), who have just finished their cycling trip of 11,617 kilometres by bike across Canada from St. Johns Newfoundland to Tofino, B.C. on Vancouver Island. It took 192 days and they saw 333 bird species! Some of you may have followed their blog at www.tilthelasttree.com where you can see photos and read of their adventures and also show your support. They also managed to raise $4000 in aid of the protection of the Old Growth Forests in B.C. (B.C. Forest Alliance) which support a number of threatened and endangered species. Thanks to all who have shown an interest of their trip along the way, I know they really appreciated it. – Kind regards, Carla Jackett
