Good, Nearly Midday in Melbourne Everyone
I have finally posted my Spoonbill Sandpiper shots which I must say that because of the distance that I was away from the Birds they are fairly reasonable. I know that some of the people on this forum have had far better views than myself as it can be the luck of the draw when you are over there as you use the car as a hide in most cases and it all depends on where the birds land on the Salt Pans as the Spoonbill Sandpiper is very flighty and will be the first bird in a group to take off. When I return their I will use a hide next time and allow myself at least 10 days, in this way you may be able to be close enough to photograph the bird. Exactly the opposite happened with the Coral-billed Ground Cuckoo which came in on a log that locals had regularly placed mealworms and was only 6 metres from us. http://barraimaging.com.au/gallery/index.php
