Swarovski’s

I had a day out last week with the Swarovski Optiks person in Australia to talk about and enjoy some digiscoping moments (see: http://aussiebirding.wildiaries.com/trips/10468 Cameras in the Hawkesbury). So I took the opportunity today to ask Hannes “… if Swarovski were so rigid with repairs and warranties?”

(I completely understand the statement and separate issue about not selling to another country as the “grey market” is a big concern for all international companies and indeed should be so for consumers).

His response was that:

“… he would be surprised if Swarovski Australia had ever rejected anyone with a genuine issue…”

Maybe if you have had a problem with Swarovski, now is the time to gain satisfaction? I’d be happy to channel it to them for you :-)

My experience with Hannes and the day digiscoping with his Swarovski equipment was superb, so much so I’m going out again next week with him….

Actually you DO have warranty. The problem is that if you buy overseas for most brands the local agent or distributor will not honour the overseas warranty. What this means is that you must send your goods back to the country of origin for warranty work. I know that some manufacturers will honour warranty on products bought overseas – Apple are certainly doing so with the iPad, for example. I know that Nikon Australia doesn’t honour warranty on overseas purchased goods. I’m unsure about Leica and Swarovski.
