sunshine coast birding

A day’s birding on the Sunshine Coast began this morning with a Ground Parrot and a covey of five King Quail showing well in wallum heath near Noosa. A Lewin’s Rail offered a rare good view at Peregian Beach, while at Noosa Junction, four Glossy Black Cockatoos were seen. A Grass Owl just after dusk at Maroochy River was an apt finale for the day.

    Hello,

I am birdwatcher from Poland and I will be few days in Brisbane in mid-August after a trip to Papua New Guinea. I wonder which are the best spots currently to see Black-breasted Buttonquail and Ground Parrot. Or if finding them independently in mid-August is difficult or needs several days of trying to be sure, I will concentrate on birding in other places.

    best regards,

    Jerzy (Jurek) Dyczkowski
