Square-tailed Kite sunning

Every year we are visited by a pair of Square-tailed Kites so now the’ve ceased to be a novelty. No doubt they nest in the forest around here (Basin View 2540)

On Friday Feb 2nd, one of them landed in a tree overhanging our backyard and spread its wings and tail, obviously sunning. Stayed just long enough to rush inside and fetch a camera and get a quick snapshot.

Cheers

Graeme
