The Wings on King project kicked off in April, 2017, with a 3 day launch and Autumn monitoring of over 40 sites.

Now its time for the first Wings on King Spring Survey that will be taking place over the 17th and 19th November. NOTE: Your need to arrive on 16th for an orientation, team formation and welcome event.

With over 50 shared survey sites situated across the island, including on private land not accessible to most visitors, there is a big job to do.

King Island has a rich avifauna boasting 10 of the 12 Tasmanian endemic species, 6 King Island subspecies with mainland birds including the many Bass Strait migrants as well as residents. Its worth a visit – and with such a small human population (about 1600) we need YOUR help…

We hope you will visit, use your expertise to give us a hand and have fun with like-minds on a beautiful island. You will be warmly welcomed…
