January seems to be a month where people don’t think about doing pelagic trips on the east coast of Australia, so SOSSA would like to offer to all Birding-Aus readers, who aren’t already a SOSSA member, a 10% discount on the January trip. This is for anyone who hasn’t already booked.
January can be a great month for sightings too. Although albatross numbers can be much lower, there is a greater chance of more tropical species.
Over the past few years SOSSA has recorded the following species on January trips:
Black Petrel
White-necked Petrel
Bullers Shearwater
Streaked Shearwater
Black-winged Petrel
Antipodean Albatross
Brown Noddy
Sooty Tern
White Tern
as well as the more commonly expected species.
If you would like to book a place on the trip, please email SOSSA@TPG.COM.AU [1] or call 02 4271 6004.
