sleeping bags end

Gooday all

Have had lots of replies re the sleeping bag drama with advise ranging from get better sleeping bags through to stay home or get a caravan or place an electric blanket into the bag, connected to an inverter and a car battery. The consensus appears to be that it is best to have two or three different capability sleeping bags each for different circumstances, a good cold weather sleeping bag “will” cost a lot more than an average bag but is worth the cost, a thicker self inflating style matress under the sleeping bag is necessary in cold weather, if necessary use quilts or blankets over the sleeping bag.

Over the years we have had lots of ordinary sleeping bags and with the kids lots of blankets and quilts as well, it is not as if we are completely unfamiliar with camping and cold weather, but occasionally we forget and get caught out. So we do plan to eventually get ourselves good sleeping bags and are now much better prepared for the purchase.

Thanks everybody for your advice and humour. Good birding to you all.
