Can anyone tell me if it’s common to see skua and albatross off the coast of Western Australia near Kalbarri – I was on a whale watching trip there a couple of weeks ago and saw both.
I had always imagined them to be found in more southerly regions and never dreamed of seeing them close to shore this far north.
Is they regular visitors to these waters?
>From my own photos and resources I am almost certain there was a juvenile yellow-nosed albatross and a brown (Australian?) skua as well as adult and juvenile Australian gannets.

The albatross would certainly not be particularly unusual – particularly if it was (Indian) Yellow-nosed. Not sure how common they are that far north, but they range as far north as Exmouth reasonably regularly so it’s well within their range. The skua might be more uncommon that far north – not certain of the extent of their range up the coast
