Shot ducks

Written by

It is my melancholy task to inform readers that a Freckled Duck – listed as endangered in Victoria – was among 25 shot, abandoned ducks collected last weekend from Hird Swamp, near Kerang. If you care about stopping the slaughter, please write to the Premier of Victoria. Please let me know if you’re interested in these reports. The silence has been, with one or two exceptions, deafening. Are birdwatchers engaging with this debate?

    Hi Alistair,

Yes I am certainly interested in this. It makes my blood boil and I have written to the Minister several times. It is important as they count numbers of letters rather than the content. Please keep the reports coming.

    Cheers,

    Fiona
