Over the past couple of days I have seen 7 Shining Flycatchers at 4 new sites on the Noosa River and Lake Cooroibah on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. All the birds were seen from my kayak. This brings to 10 the number of sites I have for this species, hitherto regarded as very rare in southeast Queensland, on the Sunshine Coast.
Also this week I had a Ground Parrot circling around me at dusk in wallum heath near Noosa, with two other birds call nearby. See here for more: http://sunshinecoastbirds.blogspot.com/
