Hi all, I went on an amazing scenic flight over the flooding Murray river in South Australia the other day. Water levels are higher than they’ve been in 18 years. Large areas of floodplains are under water. Some of the photos I took are in my picasa web album. This can be accessed from a link under Latest News on my website (below). It’s great to see the floodplains and wetlands that have suffered terribly during the drought, regenerating. The flooding is also resulting in breeding of White Ibis, Yellow-billed Spoonbill, cormorants and Darter. Rare species like Little Bittern have also been sighted. cheers Peter
