Regent HE and Swift Parrot survey weekend

Hi all, This weekend is the second of the biannual Regent Honeyeater and Swift Parrot survey weekends for 2015, coordinated by BirdLife Australia. Not limiting the surveys to a single weekend, we “accept” surveys done a week either side, so technically we’re inside the “survey period” now. If you’d like to get involved, there is plenty of information at the link below: http://birdlife.org.au/projects/woodland-birds-for-biodiversity/latest-news I maintain a sightings database for Swift Parrots in NSW/ACT/Qld and whilst I realise there are always going to be issues with having whatever-percentage of sightings reported, I have only received or become aware of 2 Swift Parrot sightings in NSW/ACT/Qld  in the past month (and only 3 further reports for the entire month prior to that). The latest sighting was just a single bird at Lake Burrendong State Park on the 17th July. So I would be keen to receive any other recent report that others may be aware of. So far in 2015 the most northerly record has been from Boorolong Creek, west of Armidale, NSW. As far as Regent Honeyeaters are concerned, well, we’d be very pleased to hear of any birds anywhere! Contact me off list here or on my BirdLife email (cc’d) if you require more info or have a sighting or two to report. Cheers Mick
