Re Northern Shoveler at Werribee (Western Treatment Plant) Vic

Further to Dave Torr’s initial report, the Northern Shoveler was on Lake Borie off Paradise Road this morning (8 AM). Seemed to be sticking close to a female shoveler. I’m not game to pronounce on which species the female is! They were actively feeding amongst a loose group of other shovelers and PEDs. The latter were fairly flighty but the Northern Shoveler seemed pretty settled.

Hi All,

The national capital for Northern Shoveler is again hosting a male. Found by Dave Torr and others on Lake Borrie yesterday. Note that access is by permit.
