Dave,
Unfortunately, there is no age discrimination legislation in Switzerland, where Ramsar is based. Having looked at the conditions of employment, they also discriminate against married people; no spouse or children allowed. There is also no accommodation options, you must only live in a Ramsar provided studio apartment. The net wage, approx. AUD 500 per week, would not go far in Switzerland either. You would have to be young and keen to put up with what they want from you and what you would gain from it.

I feel that someone should draw attention to the Age Discrimination Act (http://www.hreoc.gov.au/age/about_age.html) – such an advert would I think be illegal in Australia.

Hey Dave,
You may find it has something to do with OS visas? As an Aussie over 30 I’m no longer eligible to work in the UK unless I marry someone with a UK passport or somehow convince a company to sponsor me. Switzerland is probably even more strict with their requirements.
Cheers, Chris
May well be I guess. And of course it has not actually been advertised in Aus (unless you count BirdingAus!)
