On Sunday night (17 April), a group from Warringal Conservation Society had a spotlighting excursion along the track east from the car-park. Bright moonlight seemed to inhibit mammals, but we saw one Tawny Frogmouth, and a Powerful Owl, probably immature, which was photographed. It was perched in a wattle over the main path.
Also observed – two, maybe three Ringtail Possums in wattles beside the Plenty confluence, and a Brushtail Possum in a large River Red Gum on the Yarra bank.
