NSW Biodiversity Law Reforms

The NSW Government will be tabling the Biodiversity Conservation Bill in
Parliament next week. If passed into legislation, it will have significant
impacts on the status of birds and their habitats in NSW. Bird groups in
NSW and the ACT, as well as other environment and scientific groups, and
many individuals, prepared submissions that criticised the legislation
during the consultation process. In total, the NSW Government received 7,166
submissions. A summary of the concerns raised by these groups and
individuals can be found at:

mission-Report-Interactive.pdf

You can also read individual submissions prepared by bird groups and others

If you are in or near Sydney next week, join the NSW Nature Conservation
Council and other environmental groups at a rally outside NSW Parliament on
Wednesday 19th of October at 12:30 pm:
