Hi Birders, Bad news- I was speaking to Sam Rando of the Central Land Council this morning in the hope of securing more permits for access to the Princess Parrot site this month. The answer is a firm “no”.
Mr Rando said should the birds return next season (ie. July-Dec 2011) the CLC will consider another permit issue then. While the bird’s return is speculation at this stage I intend to run trips out there in the event they do turn up. Drop me line if you would like to be kept informed. In any event, tomorrow’s visitors to the site will be the last this year. I wish them all the best and strongly encourage them to post their sightings here, on wildiaries.com and further afield. Let us know how you go! Don’t let the Princess Parrot access issue put you off coming out to the Red Centre this year- the country is booming and there are many great birds out there just waiting to be found. Thanks for passing that on, Mark. Good luck for your subsequent “outside the fence” trips.
$450 suddenly sounds cheaper than it did yesterday
