I want to remind everybody that all sick or injured wildlife at the WTP should be reported: 9742 9208. This emergency number is printed on access permits. A distressed bird is a suffering bird, regardless of species. It may not be too late to perform a rescue – if safe to do so – and taking the precaution of using a towel or blanket to handle the animal. You must, of course, transport it yourself to the closest vet as well. Werribee’s Western Animal Emergency Centre is at 250 Princes Highway, Werribee. Tel: 9731 2232. ============================== To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: birding-aus-request@vicnet.net.au

I assumed that number was for emergencies like a fire or someone falling in, I had no idea it could be used for reporting injured birds like in this case. What would they do? Come and rescue it?
